What should be your Academic Qualification?

  • You must possess an aggregate of 65 percent or above in B.Tech, Class X and XII.
  • You must not have any backlogs at the time of interview

IBM Recruitment Process & Interview Rounds

For a fresher software engineer, IBM runs 3-4 rounds of screening. 

Written Test Round

There are three sections in the written test round

  • Numerical Ability Test or Number Series Test
  • General Aptitude Test
  • English Language Assessment Test

Duration:

  • 2 hrs 15 mins for numerical ability and general aptitude test
  • 20 mins for English language assessment test
  • There is no timer for individual questions.

Technical Rounds

Technical round is open to only those who have cleared the written test round. The technical questions can be mostly from:

  • Data Structure
  • DBMS
  • OS
  • OOPS
  • Networking
  • Programming Language (Based on what specific language demanded or if it is general you must be thorough with the basics of the programming language of your choice. 
  • You should also be prepared to answer any questions on the projects/ internships you have mentioned in the resume.

HR Rounds

The HR rounds possibly have the following questions:

  • Introduction about yourself
  • Why do you choose to become a software engineer?
  • Why do you choose IBM?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses? How do you overcome your weakness?
  • Five years from now, what do you want to be at IBM?
  • You can also expect questions from the data you have given in your resume such as academics, achievements, internships & projects.
