What are your salary expectations?

By asking this question the employer wants to verify if a candidate is aware of the remunerations as per the industry standards. Few companies has a standard that they give x% of salary hike to your current CTC. It is recommended to do a background study of the employer to understand how to set your salary expectations.

My salary expectations are in the line with the current industry standards according to my skills and experience. Also, I would only be able to give you a clear idea about my expectations once I get to know the role I am handling and the responsibilities I am expected to manage.
